This saying originated from Buddy Holly's wife Maria, she told him he had TRUE LOVE WAYS, such a beautiful statement of the love and affection she felt for him.
As a wedding gift for his wife Maria Ellen Holly, Buddy Holly and Norman Petty wrote the song "True Love Ways" and recorded it with the Dick James Orchestra in October 1958, four months before the artist's tragic death. (February 3, 1959)
